Video to Digital Formats

Normally we encode your video clip(s) to a CD.  Any additional editing is performed at $25hr. Allow 24 hours to complete a project.

We normally advise customers to encode their video clips at both high and low speeds and then give their viewers the option to select the speed of their connection.

• Dial-up Internet - 56 Kbps modem WMV video: This encodes your video to Microsoft's Windows Media Video format. The image size is 240x180 pixels played at 15 frames per second.
• Broadband Internet - Cable/DSL or better WMV video: This encodes your video to a high quality Microsoft Windows Media Video format. It can be easily viewed in a large window or full screen. The encoded image size is 320x240 pixels played at 15 frames per second.

In addition to the Windows Media files shown above, we can help you encode to other formats such as MPEG-2 and MPEG-1. We compress your video in order to place it on the internet. This can cause errors in some digital  footage. While people watching your video with Broadband technology (Cable/DSL/T1) will enjoy good video, over slower dial-up modems, it will be played in small windows at less than 30 frames per second. For best results when planning your project, consider these points:

• Stay close so you don’t loose detail.
• Work from a tripod.
• Minimize the camera movement.
• Keep the image simple, clean and stable.
